Do any of you have dark spots or skin discoloration issues? This is a problem for many people, including me. The skin in the darker pigmentation area is also rougher than my skin elsewhere. Most of the time, I forget about this pigmentation issue, but sometimes in pictures, it’s the first thing I’m drawn to. I’ve tried so many products to even out my skin tone and smooth the skin in this area, but to no avail. That’s why I decided to try Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer.
I don’t know if it’s TMI, but you can see my skin discoloration below.
I ordered this moisturizer from Amazon and thanks to my Prime membership, it arrived two days later. While waiting for its arrival, I emailed the company to find out if the moisturizer contained any gluten ingredients. The official statement on the Valentia website is: ‘Some Valentia products contain wheat germ oil and cetearyl alcohol (wheat derived), nut oils, and soy oils. Typically the extraction methods remove the proteins that can cause allergic reactions; however we cannot guarantee that all traces have been eliminated. Thus , if you have an intolerance to gluten, or an allergy to nuts or soy we recommend doing a patch test first and consult with your physician before starting use of a new skincare product.’ I read all of the ingredients in the Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer and didn’t see any gluten, but I wanted to be sure so I sent an email asking if the moisturizer contained any gluten. A Valentia rep promptly responded to my email stating, “No, the Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer does not contain any ingredients that have gluten.” So, I eagerly awaited my Amazon delivery.
A Little About the Valentia Brand
The company is named after the Roman Goddess of healing, Valentia, who relied on nature’s gifts to heal the citizens of Umbria. Valentia uses all natural ingredients for their protective, preventative and corrective abilities.
Valentia Skin Care products are formulated with natural and organic cosmetic ingredients that will repair and protect the skin.
I didn’t get my hopes up about this product since I hadn’t had much luck with other brightening moisturizers in the past. The moisturizer arrived in really pretty packaging and was a great size for the price (4oz for $25 at the time of this post). Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer has a pleasant, citrusy smell that isn’t overpowering.
On the box, it promised that it:
- Lightens dark spots
- Restores radiance
- Evens skin tone
- Diminishes fine lines
- Provides all-day hydration
I used the moisturizer once per day after my shower only on the area with skin discoloration for one week. After a few days, I noticed the skin in this area became much smoother and even-toned. It’s usually pretty rough and bumpy and it was greatly improved.
I was impressed with the smoothness of my skin, but the real test for me was how well Valentia could lighten my dark spots and even the skin tone. I was surprised by the results! I actually noticed a difference in the darkness of the discolored part of my skin. It blended more with my normal skin color. Not bad after only 7 days! Now, don’t expect to go from 0 to 100. In one week, my skin didn’t drastically change colors, but it was a noticeable difference which I haven’t seen before with other products.
The Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer kept its promise. It started to even out my skin tone, made my skin smoother and more radiant, and lightened my dark spots. I’ll keep using it on my skin discoloration and see how far I can ride this train. I’ll probably start using this as a facial moisturizer as well to alternate with the moisturizer I use now. I like to change it up every six months or so.
Check out Valentia yourself and try it out! You won’t be disappointed.
