Who doesn’t love some good old Chinese food from time to time? I know I do. Now, I don’t have to worry about gluten contamination when I get that craving. Thanks to Lili’s 57 who offers a full gluten free Chinese food menu.
I was thrilled when I discovered that this restaurant delivers. They also offer full sit-down service. I must admit, I was also a bit skeptical about how the gluten free Chinese food would taste. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised at the taste and each gluten-free dish was labeled as such.
The dough is a little thicker than your average gluten containing dumpling, but delicious nonetheless. Even the dipping sauce is labeled gluten-free.
The shrimp was tasty, but it could have been seasoned a bit more. I expected the peppers, onions, and chilis to be more sauteéd and combined with the shrimp better. It didn’t really stand a chance against other salt & pepper shrimp dishes I’ve had, but it was still pretty good. The shrimp was tender and tasted fresh. The peppers and onions were a nice addition.
This was one of the better takeout fried rice dishes I’ve had. It contained large slices of tender beef with green peas and onions…really tasty.
All in all, I’m looking forward to trying other gluten-free dishes from Lili’s 57. I value the fact that they clearly label each dish and have not sacrificed taste, for the most part. I also plan to dine in the restaurant and find out more about their gluten-free practices. I do not know if they have a separate gluten-free prep area so please, as always, take precaution if you have celiac (like me) or a severe gluten allergy.
