Welcome to Cheeky Celie! I’m a type 1 diabetic with celiac. I’m also a foodie who loves to cook and explore the incredible restaurant options that NYC has to offer.
One thing I could not live without (aside from God and my family) is travel. Travel feeds my soul. When I’m traveling, I love to experience the culture of where I am and one of the ways I do this is through food…or at least that’s my excuse for eating my way through a city. I also really enjoy giving people travel tips to help them travel on a budget and realize we all can travel if we want to. It doesn’t have to cost thousands of dollars. Some of my favorite places I’ve traveled are United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi & Dubai), Hawaii, Brazil, Jamaica, Panama, and Thailand. I love everywhere I travel because of the experience so this list is just a small subset.
I started this blog because I wanted a place where people could get information on gluten-free, diabetic-friendly foods and restaurants, but also mainly a one stop shop for a gluten-free lifestyle. I was able to find pieces of what I wanted on the internet as a type 1 with celiac, but I couldn’t find a single place with the different kinds of information I was interested in. So I started this blog and here we are. Now, I find myself going to my own blog to get recipes or ideas when my brain just can’t come up with anything.
Well, there you have it…a little bit about me. Check out the rest of the site for recipes, restaurants, home décor ideas, beauty, and travel. I’m sharing all the gluten-free goodness so check it out!
Leave me comments and let me know what else you’d like to see on the site. I’m all about this gluten-free life. LOL
